Were happy to announce that the Android Eclair update has been approved by network operators and is now available for the Samsung Galaxy Spica I5700. Issues that have been raised such as the “Bluetooth” issue have been rectified.At present the update is available through Samsungs Service channels but efforts are currently being made for an end-user solution. MTN loves Android here is their Pricing (Loads of Handsets)

After digging on the MTN Website …

I found the following models.

HTC Hero
HTC Tattoo
HTC Desire / Bravo
Motorola Milestone (DROID)
Motorola DEXT
Samsung Galaxy Spica
Sony Ericsson X10

This means … I’m switching to MTN and that MTN loves Android.

Android 2.1 gives Galaxy Spica new functionality | Android Community

The update will allow you to have nine home screens, some variation of augmented reality software that allows you to use the camera to get information on your surroundings is included. There are also new Samsung widgets, Visual bookmark and PC Sync. But the fun doesn’t stop there, there is a new media browser, camera enhancements and improved messaging functionality that makes it easier to attach files to MMS and email.
